A man is in custody at the Port Kaituma Police Station over the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl.
According to reports, the 19-year-old committed the act at Quarry Top, Port Kaituma as the child was on her way home from church on Sunday.
Reports are that he attempted to escape via a trail but was caught by a dragnet set by police officers.
