Police are hoping to get a lead from phone records as they continue their search for Vidol Rawlins, who allegedly stabbed his wife Candy Rawlins to death on Friday.
Thirty-year-old Candy Rawlins, of Crane Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara, was discovered dead by neighbours, after her 11-year-old daughter, who was tied to a chair with her mouth taped, managed to escape and raised an alarm.
‘D’ Division Com-mander Senior Superintendent Ian Amsterdam told Stabroek News yesterday that phone records are being analysed for a lead and apprehension of the suspect, Vidol.
When contacted, a niece of Vidol Rawlins said that relatives in Georgetown had not seen the man for quite a while. A neighbour of the Rawlinses, who spoke to Stabroek News under the condition of anonymity, described Candy as a “quiet person,” and her husband Vidol as a “friendly man.” Rawlins is survived by her daughter.
