Linden miner refused bail on ganja trafficking charge

A Linden man was yesterday remanded to prison after being accused of having a quantity of cannabis in his possession.

The allegation against Orette Hope, 25, is that on August 2, at Block 22 Wismar, Linden, he had in his possession 155 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

Hope, a miner, of 118 First Alley Hill, Wismar, Linden, denied the charge when it was read to him by Magistrate Ann McLennan, before whom he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

The case was transferred to the Linden Magistrates’ Court, when it will be called on August 13.
