At about 2100h last night, police say that Rudolph Persaud, 51 years, of Hog Island, Essequibo River, and Roy Williams, 21 years, of Port Kaituma, NWD, were walking along a dam at Northern Hog Island when shots were discharged in their direction.
Persaud was hit to his abdomen and neck, while Williams was hit to his chest. They were taken to the Suddie Hospital where Persaud was pronounced DOA and Williams was admitted for medical treatment.
A man and a woman have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
