Blue CAPS in programme for Albouystown Youths

NGO, Blue CAPS, has launched its second leadership development programme in Albouystown in the hope of “fostering change and development agents” among the youths in Guyana.

According to a Blue CAPS press release, the youth leadership programme commenced on August 15 at the Heavenly Light World Outreach Fellowship and will last for three weekends. The opening day featured Eric Phillips, who encouraged the participants to become servant leaders. On the second day, the release said that participants were taught “critical and analytical thinking, public speaking and adaptive leadership.”

This leadership programme is a part of the Blue CAPS’ Building Communities Through Leadership Training and Service (BCLTS) curriculum. The aim of the programme is to enhance the leadership, planning, organizing, problem solving and decision-making skills of the participants. At the conclusion of this programme, Blue CAPS in consultation with the residents will undertake a community service project.

Founder and Executive Chairman of Blue CAPS, Clinton Urling announced that the organisation Headquarters will be opened soon with the intent of hosting regular training, discussions and debates there.
