Mabaruma duo granted bail over ATV theft

Two Mabaruma youths, facing a simple larceny charge, were both placed on bail when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts yesterday.

It is alleged that between Saturday 6 August and Sunday 7 August, Rondel Fernandez, 23, and Fernando Wills, 18, stole a Suzuki ATV motorcycle valued $2.4 million, property of the Ministry of Health.

Fernandez and Wills both pleaded not guilty to the charge and were placed on $200,000 bail each.

They are to report to the Mabaruma Magistrate’s Court on November 17.
