Torginol, Continental Group donate to anti-domestic violence project

Torginol Paints Inc and Continental Group of Companies donated 25 gallons of paint to Miss World Guyana Rafieya Hussain for her planned US$10,000 Domestic Violence Outreach Centre in Essequibo.

According to a press release, the two companies presented the paint, a quantity of putty and thinners to Hussain at a brief ceremony held at their headquarters in Ruimveldt.

Ravi Brijnandan, Office Manager at Continental Group of Companies commended Hussain for her advocacy for victims of domestic violence, noting the increasing incidence of domestic and gender-based violence in Guyana. “We, at Torginol Paints Inc are very pleased to be collaborating with you on this venture and will remain committed in partnering with you in this fight,” he told her.

The outreach centre is expected to be built at Land of Plenty, Essequibo coast. It aims to educate, correct anti-social behaviours and ultimately prevent domestic violence.
