Two bandits held after attack on Success shop

At about 2140h. last night, police say that Altaf Maidan, 29 years, and three other men were attacked and robbed while in a shop at Success, ECD, by four men, two of whom were armed with cutlasses and one with a firearm.

The perpetrators took away cash and other valuables and as they fled the scene, the victims raised an alarm, police said.

Members of the Community Policing Group and other public spirited persons responded and were joined by police ranks following receipt of the report. There was an exchange of gunfire during which one of the suspects was shot and injured to his left foot. Two other suspects were also arrested, one of whom had injuries to his body, while the other man escaped in the motor vehicle used during the robbery. The two injured suspects are under guard at the GPHC, while the other suspect is in police custody as the investigations continue.
