Inmate charged with trafficking ganja in Camp St Prison

Troy Younge, currently serving a three-year prison sentence for a drug-related offence, was yet again before a court yesterday after allegedly being caught with marijuana in jail.

Younge appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts, charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

It was alleged that on November 9, at the Georgetown Prison, he had 154 grammes of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Younge pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Prosecutor Michael Grant told the court Younge is currently serving a sentence at the Georgetown Prison after he was previously charged with a similar offence.

Younge is to make his next court appearance on November 20.
