Miner on bail after denying death threat to wife

A miner was yesterday granted $15,000 bail after denying that he threatened to kill his wife.

It is alleged on December 2nd, at James Street, Albouystown, Trenskei Marshall, 29, made use of threatening behavior to Rachel Francis. Marshall pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him by magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.

Prosecutor Deniro Jones told the court that Marshall told Francis that he had a gun and he would kill her. He said the man also went into his house and picked up a hammer and attempted to hit Francis.

Marshall, however, told the court that, “she went away for a year and come back and I still tek she, me ain’t want do she nothing.”

With no objections from Jones, Marshall was granted $15,000 bail and was placed on a bond to keep the peace until the conclusion of his trial.

He is to make his next court appearance on December 19th before Magistrate Geeta Chandan-Edmond.
