Police find phone stolen during Berbice robbery

Three men are in police custody after police discovered a cell phone that was stolen during a recent robbery in Berbice.

In a press release on Saturday, police said that during investigations into two armed robberies that occurred at Tain and Anchorville, Port Mourant, Corentyne, on December 23, the police arrested three men at Port Mourant.

The ranks, the release said, recovered two improvised shotguns, a knife, a toque mask and a cell phone that was stolen during one of the robberies.

The men are in police custody assisting with the investigations.

The police have come under pressure over their response time to a recent robbery at Maida on the Corentyne.
