Trinidad opens Embassy in China

(Jamaica Observer) KINGSTON, Jamaica – Trinidad and Tobago has established an embassy in the People’s Republic of China.

The embassy was officially declared open yesterday by the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Kamla Persad-Bissessar.

A delegation from Trinidad is currently in China where an agreement was signed Tuesday with China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) for the development of an economic zone and a trans-shipment port and dry-docking facilities in the twin-island republic.

CHEC is also seeking to embark on a similar project in Jamaica.
