Ganja worth US$13.7m intercepted on vessel coming from Jamaica

(Jamaica Gleaner) Law enforcement authorities in Antigua say they have intercepted a vessel originating from Jamaica with more than 2,300 pounds of marijuana worth US$13.7 million.

The Office of the National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy said the 65 feet vessel was intercepted on Wednesday.

It also said the vessel was being operated by six Jamaican men whose ages range from 38 years old to 67 years old.

The captain and his crew have since been arrested are said to be helping investigating officers.

Antiguan authorities says the seizure is the third successful interdiction during this week.
