Guyanese woman pleads guilty to attempting to export ganja

(Jamaica Gleaner) KINGSTON, Jamaica — A Guyanese woman accused of attempting to export approximately seven pounds of ganja to Curacao is to reappear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s court today for sentencing.

Tameka Marcus, who changed her initial not guilty plea to guilty, told the court that the suitcase containing the drug was giving to her by a friend who said that her original suitcase was too small.

Before accepting her guilty plea, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey told her that it’s not guarantee that she will go home.
