Tuc-ville woman wanted for impersonating former Ms Guyana

Police yesterday issued a wanted bulletin for a woman who pretended to be  former Miss Guyana Olive Gopaul in order to solicit money on the pretext of being ill.

The wanted woman has been identified as Pretima Augustus, of Critchlow Street, Tuc-Ville Georgetown. She is medium built and of African descent, the police said. According to a police press release, Augustus would contact unsuspecting persons by telephone, claiming that she is the former pageant queen and sick and soliciting money to help with her medical treatment.

Gopaul has been contacted by the police and indicated that she was in good health and has not authorised anyone to collect monies on her behalf for any purpose.

Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Pretima Augustus is asked to contact the police on telephone numbers 225-6411, 225-2227, 226-7065, 227-1149, 911 or the nearest police station.
