Nine arrested after police operation on East Bank, in city

Yesterday morning, the Police say they conducted an operation within Diamond and Providence, EBD; and Ruimveldt and Tucville, Georgetown in which arrests were made and an unlicensed gun found.

A police release said that during the operation nine persons were arrested. Four men were held pending investigations into armed robberies; two men and two women were detained for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking; and a man was arrested after an unlicensed .32 Taurus Pistol along with two magazines and 25 matching rounds were found in his home. The police say he was also wanted for questioning pending investigations into another matter where a firearm was recovered at Ogle, ECD.
