Corentyne robberies suspect flees, leaves shotgun

During continuing investigations into armed robberies on the Upper Corentyne, Berbice, the police say that at about 2030h last night, police ranks went to a house at No. 65 Village, Corentyne, in search of a suspect.

The man managed to escape but left behind a 16 gauge shotgun with one cartridge which was recovered by the police.

A release today from Police Headquarters, Eve Leary said that the police had on Friday  arrested another suspect at a location at No. 65 Village. He is expected to appear at the Whim Magistrate’s Court on four charges of robbery under arms tomorrow.
