Bee attack leaves Plaisance man hospitalised

A man is presently hospitalised at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) after he was stung by Africanised bees yesterday afternoon at Plaisance, East Coast Demerara.

Randolph Edwards, a 43-year-old horse cart operator, was about to weed his yard when he came under attack by the bees, according to his sister Beverly Edwards.

She said that when he started the weeding machine, the noise from the machine stirred the bees and they attacked, covering her brother’s entire body in the shortest of time.

He was subsequently taken to GPH and up to yesterday afternoon, doctors said his condition was improving.
