An Essequibo logger was killed early Tuesday morning at Oku Backdam, Cuyuni after apparently accidentally shooting himself with an improvised shotgun, police said yesterday.
Police in a press release said that the shooting incident occurred around 0100 hours. Stabroek News had originally been told that the man was shot dead during an invasion of his mining camp at Puruni, Region Seven and that a team of policemen had been dispatched to the scene.
