Man gets 56 years for murder of childhood friend

Murder accused Redrick Alexander, who was on trial for the 2010 murder of his childhood friend, was yesterday sentenced to 56 years in prison after he was found guilty of the crime by a jury.

Redrick Alexander, 61, begged the judge, Navindra Singh, to be merciful in handing down his sentence after the jury found him guilty in the High Court. “I’m innocent of murder. I’m really innocent. I know to my heart is a scuffle me and this man had…” Alexander pleaded from the prison’s dock.
