Elderly Kitty woman dies after collision with other biker

An elderly woman died after she and another motorcyclist collided at a city intersection on Tuesday evening.

Harriet Philadelphia, 66, of Lot 12 Pike Street, Kitty, succumbed to her injuries while receiving medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital, police said. Also injured in the accident was rider Jason Lashley, 25, of Sixth Street, Alberttown.

According to a press release issued by the police force, the accident occurred at approximately 6:25pm on Tuesday when the two motor cyclists collided at the intersection of JB Singh Road and Thomas Road. The two were subsequently taken to the hospital.

Philadelphia’s sister, Avril Downer, who resides in Berbice, related that her sister lived with her three children, Royston, Deanna and Andrew Downer at her Kitty residence.
