Pigeon Island dad chopped in row over cycle wheel

A 25-year-old father of three is currently nursing chop wounds at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) after an altercation with a neighbour over a bicycle wheel.

According to reports, Faroz Alli of Pigeon Island Squatting was chopped several times about his hand and body by his neighbour who later fled the scene.

This newspaper understands that the assailant removed a bicycle wheel belonging to Alli’s wife Jasoda. When Alli, who was out at the time, got home and questioned him about it, he became annoyed and dealt Alli several chops.

Only last week another incident at Pigeon Island left a guard, Karan Persaud nursing severe injuries at GPH after he was attacked by a group of men who had asked him to show them to a toilet.

Persaud had reportedly pointed to the direction of the toilet and the men became angry and first attacked the man with a broken bottle before cutting off his nose and repeatedly stabbing him about his body despite calls from other persons present to stop.
