Two charged with murdering taxi driver

Two men appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court this morning charged with murdering 17 year old taxi driver Dhanraj Latchman.

Asas Alli and Abdool Shazin Razack were not required to plead to the capital offence which was read to them by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

It is alleged that between June 10 and 14 at Parika Backdam they murdered Latchman in furtherance of a robbery.

They were not represented during this brief court appearance and will return to the Leonora Magistrate’s Court on June 24.
