An autopsy has determined that four-year-old Tevon Niles, who was found at a koker in Bagotstown on Tuesday night, died by drowning, his family said yesterday.

Niles, of the Bagotstown Squatting Area, was last seen alive on Tuesday at 4:45pm, before being discovered dead by the koker after hours of desperate searching to find him.

Relatives had told Stabroek News that Niles and his cousin, Leron were riding a bicycle in the area. The boys were running over a make-shift bridge, when Niles, according to Leron, “He (Tevon) disappear,” without evening a splash being heard.

Niles is scheduled to be buried on Tuesday.
