Charity youth fined after found in underwear on neighbour’s verandah

An 18-year-old Charity youth was on Monday fined at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court after he was found on his neighbour’s verandah and could not give a plausible explanation as to why he was there.

According to the police facts, on June 22, at around 23:00 hrs, Veronica Christian went to her home at Charity River Dam and while she was walking up her steps, she observed a foot partially concealed behind a flower plant pot on the verandah.

On looking carefully, she saw Markie Stoll hiding behind the plant pot; he was wearing just his underwear. She immediately called the Charity Police Station and made a report. During that time, Stoll made good his escape but was later apprehended by the police. His boots and pants were found on Christian’s verandah.

Stoll, who was not represented, pleaded guilty. He told the court that he had consumed alcohol earlier that night and had gone to the wrong house in error. He said that after he woke up on Christian’s verandah, he became confused and ran to his house nearby.

He was fined $10,000 by Magistrate Sunil Scarce with the alternative of one week in jail.
