Newspaper vendor injured in accident suffering from internal bleeding

After suffering through an accident that left her hospitalised, newspaper vendor Lorna Johnson is now battling with a problematic recovery.

Though in good spirits, Johnson is now bleeding internally as her broken ribs punctured a lung. She was admitted to Georgetown Public Hospital last Sunday with four broken ribs, a broken hip and head injuries after a car collided with hers. The 55-year-old woman, who was knocked unconscious during the collision, was then robbed by citizens pretending to render assistance.

“I just want to be well again,” Johnson said.

According to her daughter, Keshan, the police have not been entirely cooperative with her family. She said that though she was told by an officer that the men would have appeared in court, she was given the incorrect day for the court appearance and consequently she was unable to speak on behalf of her mother.
