The police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 0640h. today on the Number 19 Village Public Road, Corentyne, and which resulted in the death of pedestrian Vickram Ramlakhan, 26 years, of Number 11 Village, Corentyne.
Investigations have revealed that Ramlakhan was struck down by a motor car while standing on the roadway. He was pronounced DOA at the New Amsterdam Hospital.
The driver of the motor vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
