Granger back as PNCR leader after Norton withdraws in protest

David Granger

David Granger was this afternoon returned as Leader of the PNCR after his rival Aubrey Norton withdrew in protest over the arrangements for voting at the party’s Congress at Sophia.

Voting had already been marred by a commotion created by Region 10 delegates which led to the firing of a shot by a security guard.

The PNCR moments ago issued the following press release:

GRANGER RETURNED AS PARTY LEADER

Brigadier David Granger has been returned unopposed as Leader of the People’s National Congress after longtime party member Mr. Aubrey Norton indicated that he was no longer contesting for the leadership. Voting was delayed for several hours due to complaints of an inflated delegates list. Every effort was made to reconcile the situation, thus delaying the process. At 1345 Mr. Norton declined and the process of selecting the other party officers continues.
