Dynamic Airways has been granted permission by the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) to once again operate here and it will resume flights to New York from November 22nd.
Dynamic’s local partner Gerry Gouveia announced the granting of approval yesterday as did the GCAA. The GCAA stated that the approval was valid until June 9th of next year and that Dynamic and its agents are authorised to sell tickets for the approved period.
Last month, Dynamic announced that the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) had lifted its suspension and granted approval for the carrier to operate to a variety of destinations in South America.
Gouveia had informed last week that the carrier was awaiting the GCAA’s approval to restart its operations. It had submitted documentation on the heels of a “strong” letter from the GCAA, which outlined the requirements for the airline to resume operations.
GCAA was also disturbed that a travel agency was selling tickets before the company was given an official approval.
The airline had a troubled entry into the local market in June, after numerous problems beset its inaugural flight from the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri and its subsequent grounding at JFK International Airport in New York for a series of violations. As a result, it was forced to use alternative airports in Connecticut and New Jersey to transport passengers to Guyana. The DOT subsequently pulled Dynamic’s operations approval, giving it up to August 8th to get its business in order.
