NM Services Ltd not responsible for customer being without DSL service

Dear Editor,

This is our response to letter captioned ‘Can’t get internet service connected’ that was published in Stabroek News on August 22, 2014.

NM Services Limited (NMSL) is the franchise holder of SurePay in Guyana. SurePay is a superior bill payment platform which is reliable and customers’ payments are guaranteed by NMSL to reach the respective companies. Payment files are uploaded to the utilities companies’ servers three times each day. SurePay is also committed to providing excellent customer service to persons using its service.

In this particular instance, NMSL sent the payment file to GT&T’s server the same evening the payment was made, thus NMSL is not culpable for the customer being without his DSL service.

A GT&T representative has since communicated to us that because of the particular DSL service plan the customer activated, he was supposed to call GT&T to have his service reconnected after payment was made.

Yours faithfully,
Debbie Baldeo
