NAGICO Super50….Guyana to open campaign against Ireland

The Christopher Barnwell-led Guyana team, which has the dependable Shivnarine Chanderpaul as the vice captain, will open its quest for honours in this year’s NAGICO Super50 limited overs tournament against Ireland in a Zone A encounter the Caribbean Media Corporation announced yesterday.

The other two teams in Zone A are Jamaica and defending One Day champions the Windward Islands which means that the locals must not only defeat Ireland but one of these two teams as well if they are to make it to the next round.

According to the CMC Report, defending champions Windward Islands will clash with Jamaica in the first match on the opening day of the limited overs tournament on January 30 at Queen’s Park Oval.
