CCC beat Barbados by five wickets in Super50 warm-up

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Jan 21, CMC- Combined Campuses and Collegesdefeated Barbados by five wickets in their second 50 over practice match at the 3Ws oval here on Monday.

Despite a half century from Barbados’ middle order batsman Kevin Stoute, CCC achieved victory with 17 overs to spare to bounce back from a five wicket loss in the first match at the same venue last week.

Stoute top scored with 51 for Barbados who were bowled out for 152 in 41.5 overs after winning the toss.

He faced 63 balls and struck three fours and two sixes but lost his wicket attempting to pull medium- pacer Kyle Mayers and was brilliantly caught, low at short fine-leg.

Veteran off-spinner Ryan Austin took three for 12 off 4.5 overs while leg-spinner Akeem Dewar, took the same number of wickets for 28 runs off ten overs.

Opener Anthony Alleyne led the run chase by batting through most of the innings for CCC to top score on 39.

The left-hander ensured CCC was well on course to victory when he departed at 131 for four, leg before wicket on the backfoot by off-spinner Kenroy Williams.

Shacaya Thomas contributed 31 before he was caught low at point by Jonathan Carter off left-arm spinner Jamar Griffith.
