Dwayne Smith to defend his Single Wicket title

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad,  CMC- The Most Valuable Player of the just concluded NAGICO Super50 tournament, Dwayne Smith, is to defend his Caribbean Single Wicket Cricket title when the 2014 tournament gets under way in June, organizers have announced.

Smith, who led Barbados to the Super50 crown, will return for his title defence when the event takes place from June 18-19 in St Augustine, Trinidad.

Promoters Glory Entertainment Television says UWI SPEC is the venue for this year’s competition which will feature the region’s leading all-rounders.

The revival of the single wicket competition started when Glory TV staged an exhibition tournament in 2009 in Tobago with 12 cricketers representing five islands going head-to-head to determine the best all-rounder.
