Queen’s College creates upset

Queen’s College upset Tutorial Secondary 2-1 when the Milo/Petra Organization Schools Football tourney continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

David Coates would open the scoring for the Woolford Avenue side in the third minute with a clinical finish to the lower right hand corner of the net after evading his marker within the centre of the penalty box.

Queen’s College would level proceedings six minutes later as Jaydev Mona found the back of the net from the penalty spot following the hand ball infringement inside the penalty area.

With the sides unable to be separated in the remaining minutes of the opening half, the Camp Road outfit would grab what would prove to be the go-ahead winner in the 42nd minute through an Ashmar Angel strike.

Standing within the left side of the penalty area, Angel would curl his right footed strike over the head of the Tutorial custodian in to the back of the net after collecting a pass from nippy winger Aftab Crandon.

In the other matchup, North Georgetown Secondary edged Tucville Secondary 1-0 through a 29th minute Reuben Miller strike to the top right hand side of the net. In other results, David Rose defeated Richard Ishmael by a 5-1 margin while Kingston Secondary defeated Carmel Secondary by a 3-1 score line.
