Webster triumphs despite rare feat by Dinnanauth

Top golfer Mohanlall` Santo’ Dinnanauth produced a rare feat at the Lusignan Golf Club on Saturday but female golfer Shonella Webster emerged winner of the Hadi’s Worldwide Incorporated-sponsored Medal Play golf tournament at the Lusignan Golf Course.

Dinnanauth, parred the course on his way to a gross score of 70 but, according to a press release, that performance was overshadowed by performances from Webster, Chatterpaul Deo, Brian Hackett and Mike Gayadin who each ended with scores of net 66.

The tie break was broken after several count back of the back nine scores with Webster adjudged the winner ahead of Gayadin, second and Hackett, third.

Dinnauath also captured the prize for the best gross with his superb 70 and he was also the nearest to the pin winner.

The best female player was Joann Deo who had the lowest gross of 94.

Mark Chung, a representative of Hadi’s Worldwide Inc. congratulated all the winners and said that he was happy to see so many players and spectators in attendance, and promised repeat sponsorship next year.

Club captain Deo said in a brief address that many new players were coming out adding that he was pleased to see Dino Bissessar and Richard Haniff among the golfers in Saturday’s field.
