Lawrence’s double leads Conquerors past Pouderoyen

- Mills nets hat trick for Slinging

Tournament hosts Fruta Conquerors led by a Dwayne Lawrence double, crushed Pouderoyen FC 3-0 when the Namilco sponsored One Love Knockout Festival continued on Saturday at the Uitvlugt Community Centre ground on the West Coast of Demerara.

Lawrence opened the scoring for the Tucville side through a second minute finish from inside the penalty area after latching onto a left sided cross from Eon Alleyne cross.

He would double his tally in the 34th minute with a through a strike to the left hand corner of the net from inside the penalty area after evading the last defender.

The contest would be sealed in the opening half as Jahal Greaves found the back of the goal with a volleyed effort from inside the area three minutes later, after collecting a right sided Jermaine Junior cross.

In the other matchup of the doubleheader, Vergenoegen unit Slingerz FC led by a Vurlon Mills hat trick in the 18th, 54th and 80th minutes mauled Linden outfit Netrockers by a 6-0 margin.

Completing the lopsided contest with singular strikes were Richard Joseph, Devon Millington and Colin Nelson in the fifth, 27th and 67th minutes respectively.
