Guyana edged heavyweights Argentina 2-1 in a penalty shoot-out to clinch the bronze medal following a 2-2 score at the end of normal time, when the Pan American Indoor Hockey Cup concluded on Saturday in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Defeating the Argentines by a 5-3 score line in their opening group matchup, Team Guyana would concede the early lead as Ceballos netted through a seventh minute penalty corner conversion.

He would double their lead in the third place playoff compliments of a field goal attempt in the 26th minute. However Guyana would battle back as Aderemi Simon narrowed the deficit to one two minutes later through a field goal strike.

Assanah would then force the fixture into a shoot-out as he netted through a 40th minute penalty corner strike, thus affording Guyana the opportunity to eventually prevail in the resulting penalty strikes.
