Cops sweep past GFC 3-1

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) arrested the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) by a 3-1 score line when the Stag Beer-sponsored Georgetown Football Association (GFA) first division league continued at the Tucville Community Ground on Wednesday.

The Bourda-based side would take the early lead in the 24th minute through a Rashawn Hicks strike to the bottom of the net from inside the area, after latching onto a through pass.

However, the lawmen would equalise eight minutes later as Rondell Arthur scored with a left-footed attempt into the back of the net, after cutting inside from the right wing.

Allister Williams would give them the lead for the first time in the proceedings, slotting home his effort into the right-hand corner of the net from inside the six-yard box, following a left-sided cross.

The Eve Leary unit would seal the come-from-behind win in the 46th minute as Arthur completed his double with a well-placed header into the left-hand side of the goal from just inside the centre of the box, after collecting a cross from the left side.
