GTTA look to overseas training ahead of upcoming international events

The Guyana table Tennis Association (GTTA) is looking up give its players some amount of overseas training as it prepares to participate in a number of upcoming international events.

President of the GTTA Godfrey Munroe yesterday told this newspaper that training stints in China, participation at the Pan American Olympic Festival in Mexico, the Caribbean Table Tennis championships in Cuba and the Commonwealth Games in Scotland and the CAC games in November are all on the cards, once funding is available.

According to Munroe, the national women’s table tennis team will be definitely participating in this year’s Pan American Olympic Festival billed for Mexico from July 17-20 while three players Trenace Lowe and Chelsea Edghill along with Shemar Britton will be heading to China for a month
