Fruta Conquerors overcame home side Georgetown Football Club (GFC) by a 3-1 score line in a hard-fought battle when the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Stag Beer first division league continued on Wednesday at the GFC ground.
Held at bay by the Bourda unit in the opening period, the Tucville giants opened the scoring in the 46th minute through a Travis Thornhill effort. The diminutive Thornhill raced into the centre of the box, latched onto a flat cross from the right side of the field and directed his right-footed strike into the lower-right hand corner of the net.
Keron Solomon almost levelled the score in the 61st minute when he lashed his right-footed effort just over the crossbar from the centre of the box,
