GABA blows out B/ce in Inter Association B/ball

The Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) blew-out the Berbice Amateur Basketball Association (BABA) 116-42 when the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) Inter-Association tourney continued at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Sunday.

Travis Burnett netted a game-high 25 points in the win. Contributing with figures of 17, 17 and 14 points respectively were Shelroy Thomas, Nikkoloi Smith and Dave Causeway. Top scoring for the Ancient County was Randy Richards with 16 points.

He was assisted by Keron Emmanuel who netted nine points. Interior penetration aided by ball rotation would underline the opening period as Georgetown took the opening exchanges 20-14.

They were led by a 14 point combination from Colts duo Causeway and Thomas who both netted seven points apiece by constantly attacking the rim.

The interior assault would open up the perimeter offense as Smith led the charge in the second period with nine points inclusive of two three point daggers. He would be assisted by Burnett who netted eight points through layups as GABA went into the half leading at 49-27.

Stifling defence by the GABA unit would highlight the third quarter as the BABA unit was relegated
