Black Pearl defeats nine-man Pele team 2-1

Black Pearl FC edged a nine man Pele side 2-1 when the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) under-17 league continued yesterday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda.

Pele would take the lead in the 13th minute as Richardson netted, lobbing the ball over the advancing custodian, into the right hand corner of the net.

Black Pearl would level the scores in the 61st minute through a Nicholas Havercoma right footed strike into the back of the net, after pouncing on a deflected stop by the Pele custodian from a left sided free kick inside the penalty area.

Kirk Augustus would net the winning goal for Black Pearl five minutes later, powering his right footed effort down the middle of the goal, after racing into the right side of the 18 yard box.

In the opening matchup, East Ruimveldt based side Renaissance FC defeated Mocha based side Riddim Squad by a 1-0 margin. Idany Jobe netted the game winner in the 48th minute through a right footed penalty kick conversion to the lower left hand corner.
