Georgetown champions Queen Street Tiger Bay solidified their status as the nation’s leading street football outfit, crushing East Coast champions Melanie-A 3-0 in the finale of the Guinness of the Streets national tourney on Sunday.

Played at the Demerara Park Tarmac, James Meredith started the festivities as he broke the deadlock in the fifth minute with a right footed strike into the left hand corner of the net, after collecting a pass on the right side of the field.

The East Coast side almost levelled the scores in the 17th minute as a powerfully struck William Europe left footed drive from the centre of the field, was denied by the outstretched leg of the final defender Jeffrey Newton.

However Queen Street would increase their lead seven minutes later through an Alpha Fletchman first time right footed attempt
