Greenidge scores first win for Guyana at World Chess C/ships

National player Ronuel Greenidge scecured thr first win for the Guyana Chess team at the 41st World Chess Championships in Tromso, Norway.

Playing against Liechtenstein in a third round encounter of the men’s team competition, Guyana lost by one and one half points to two and one half with Anthony Drayton (1828) securing the other half point after drawing his Board One clash with Liechtenstein’s number one player Mario Kobler whose ranking is 2113.

Greenigdle ranked 1630 then defeated Marcel Mannart (2105) but Renato Frick 2057 defeated Haifeng Su and Andras Guller 2042 defeated Maria Varona Thomas 1777.
