Five-a-side knock out football tournament postponed

The Against All Odds (AAG) Promotions one-day, best-of-the-best, 16-team five-a-side knockout football tourney has been rescheduled until further notice due to the unavailability of playing venues.

The tournament was set to commence tomorrow at the National Park Tarmac, Thomas Lands features teams based in Georgetown, East Coast and East Bank of Demerara regions competing for over $500,000 in cash and prizes.

The competing teams are Tiger Bay, West Front Road, Back Circle, Leopold Street, Sparta Boss, Alexander Village, Charlestown, Kitty, Festival City, Buxton, Agricola, Globe Yard, Up-Top Youths, Bent Street, Robb Street, and Customs.

According to the organisers, the winners of the event will walk away with the championship trophy and $250,000 while the second place side will pocket $125,000 and the respective accolade. The third and fourth place finishers will collect $75,000 and $50,000 and the respective trophies.
