Garnett stated that he expects the match to be exciting due to the number of local celebrities and former players expected to be on show. He concluded his brief statement by thanking the sponsors, especially Wind Jammer and Colours Boutique who outfitted the two teams with their uniforms.

Meanwhile, Griffith pointed out that he was happy to be a part of the event and indicated that Wind Jammer will continue to throw its weight behind the development of all sports in Guyana. Both coaches were adamant about their team’s proposed success and the overall feat of the event, asking more persons to come onboard and support the unity game. The match is expected to commence at 7:00hrs and features names such as former President of Guyana Bharat Jagdeo, entertainers Jomo Primo, opposition leader David Granger, ex-players Clyde Butts, Orin Forde, Reon King and Alfred Mentore among others.
