Three-member badminton team at Pan American Sports Festival

A three-member team from the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA) is currently in Mexico participating in the Pan American Sports festival which commenced on Wednesday and ends Tuesday.

According to a press release from the GBA, the team of Manager/Coach Gokarn Ramdhani and Guyana’s two top male players Narayan Ramdhani and Nicholas Ali departed Guyana Wednesday.

Narayan Ramdhani and Ali will compete in the Open men’s singles and doubles events against some of the top players in the Pan American region. “Although our players are still in the junior division, we know that this level of the tournament will help them to gain higher standards for future events and they will play their best to gain as much points as possible,” said president of the GBA Gokarn Ramdhani.

Gokarn Ramdhani was scheduled to attend a conference for coaches on Thursday and Friday while the players were scheduled to get into action yesterday at the General Jose Maria Arteaga Gimnasio Badminton Hall.

The opening ceremony was held at the Holiday Inn Hotel where the games were officially declared open, the release ended.
