Hooper, Bollers dominate AAG senior national c/ships

Running Brave’s Natrena Hooper and Royal’s Elton Bollers were in sublime form yesterday at the AAG’s Senior National Championships.

The gust at the Eve Leary Ground was perhaps Hooper’s biggest competition as she dominated the 100m, 200m and the triple jump events.

After leaping to 11.98m to defeat her sister Natricia in the triple jump, Natrena clocked 13.10s to win the 100m ahead of club mates Shoquane Daniels (13.40s) and Ruth Sanmogan.

Bollers took gold in the 100m (10.9s) and 200m (22.0s) events, relegating Police Sports Club’s Tevin Garraway (11.0s) and (22.10s) to the first runner up spot in both races.

The two Running Brave athletes brought the small crowd to its feet by putting on a duel that had tongues wagging.

Hooper took gold in a brisk 58.50s whole the pint sized Sampson clocked 59.0s.

Shoquane Daniels placed third in 1:01.70s.

Other notable performers of the day included Cleveland Thomas, winner of the men’s 1500 and 5000m events, Andrea Foster (women’s 1500m winner).

Kareem Purch (winner of the men’s 400m), Rondel Austin (800m men’s winner, Domon Williams (men’s triple jump winner) and Clarence Green (men’s javelin winner).
