Kings stay atop after crushing Ann’s Grove

Victoria Kings strengthened their grip at the top of the East Coast Football Association (ECFA) Stag Beer division one league after crushing Ann’s Grove 2-0 Sunday at the Victoria Community Centre Ground.

Winston Pompey broke the deadlock for the league leaders as he found the back of the net in the 18th minute of play. Aubrey Gibson would then seal the win as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet compliments of a 36th minute conversion.

In the opening matchup, third positioned side Mahaica Determinators held second placed unit Buxton United played to a nil-all draw.

League action is slated to continue on Saturday at the Buxton ground with a doubleheader featuring both home teams. In the opening match, seventh positioned Buxton Stars will face off with sixth placed Golden Stars at 14:00hrs.

The feature contest of the evening will witness second placed side Buxton United battling fifth positioned outfit Beterverwagting (BV)/Triumph United at 16:00hrs.
