Fourth annual Petra Pee-Wee football competition kicks off today

The Thirst Park venue will come alive today when the fourth annual Petra Organization/Courts Pee-Wee U11 primary schools football tourney will officially kickoffs with 12 slated group matchups

In the opening matches at 10:00hrs, West Ruimveldt will faceoff with Redeemer Primary while Green Acres will lock horns with Comenius Primary.

The second round of fixture at 10:45hrs will witness perennial heavyweights Tucville Secondary battling Thomas Moore and St. Stephen’s engaging St. Gabriel’s.

In the third set of matches at 11:30hrs, F.E. Pollard will match skills with St. Angela’s while defending champs St. Pius will oppose J.E. Burnham.

Success Primary will play Enterprise Primary and dark horses East La Penitence Primary will oppose Ketley Primary in the 12:15hrs round of the fixtures. At 13:00hrs, St. Margaret’s will tackle Smith Memorial while South Ruimveldt battles St. Ambrose.

The final round of matches at 13:45hrs will witness former champs Marian Academy facing off with Stella Maris and North Georgetown tackling Winfer Garden.

The winners of the tourney will receive the championship trophy, medals, a set team uniforms and certificates while the runners-up will collect the second place accolade, medals, six football balls and certificates.

The third placed side will receive the respective trophy, four balls and certificates while fourth placed will be presented with a trophy and certificates. The most disciplined team will also be presented with a trophy.

On the individual side, the most valuable player, highest goal scorer and best goalkeeper will each receive a trophy and football cleats. Prior to the opening of the tourney, the official march-past featuring all the participating schools will be held.
